The C&I has lost basically all power because our law system seems intent on creating infractions for every single minuscule issue. Give the lawyers credit for that one...

It's fairly easy to see if a driver is performing adequately if you actually pay attention to them. This of course would require the police to be on the road enforcing the law rather than sitting in speed traps 90% of the time.

I'm pretty sure this will just turn into another one of those nuisance laws where the one time (or rare) offender pays the price while the continual offenders seem to "slip" by unnoticed.

We definitely need to do something to get people back to watching the roads again, but I don't know how the law enforcement can make much of a dent in this problem.

Like you said, how do they know for sure what these drivers are actually doing? What happened to careless and imprudent driving? When I started out driving many years ago the police departments used this as a catch all.

Maybe Arnie can get something started and maybe it will turn into something good. It seems that the smarter the world gets, the less common sense that people have.
